At least, according to artist Gerry Judah, who does a remarkable job of depicting modern cities in the throes of decay. Judah constructs miniature clusters of buildings that form cities, and initially, they’re fully intact — that is, before the artist douses them layer after layer of white paint and turns the entire thing on its side. The effect is eerily similar to a natural disaster hitting a tiny civilization.Or, as BLDG Blog describes it, the scenes are “blasted and collapsing landscapes so covered in white it’s as if nuclear winter has set in.”The video below shows Judah in the studio, and serves as a fine introduction to his work.
