After over five decades dedicated to traditional gaming bliss, one of America’s last great arcades shuttered its doors for good. Just last week, Chinatown Fair manager Valentino Ventura had been quick to assure the New York City arcade’s continued operation amidst swirling rumors (though tacitly admitting possible closure) while talks of a new Williamsburg location have yet to pan out.Long term patrons basked in the glow of old-school gaming until the very last token was dropped.By late Sunday afternoon, there was scant evidence that downtown New York City had just lost a historic treasure.
