The Tech-Bass Wave Continues with Clarity's Impressive Debut "Infinite"

Bassheads don't sleep. This kid is legit. Stream the whole LP here.

"From the very first productions I heard from Clarity, I knew he had a very unique approach to making music and was the perfect fusion of minimal drum & bass and techno," says Samurai label head Geoff Wright. No kiddin'. We were on the same tip from the first note of Clarity's debut album Infinite.

The record is thirteen tracks of tech-laden minimal bass music, dark and heady and comin' up fast on a sound that guys like Icicle have had a stranglehold on over the past few years. It sits mainly in the drum & bass space, with a few forays into alternating tempos and aesthetics, but there's an undeniable, classy touch to proceedings that suggest Clarity's been honing his sound for years and years.

Except that the Bristolian isn't even old enough to drink booze. "At 20 years old, Clarity possesses a musical maturity few producers will reach in their career," continues Wright. "It is almost frightening to think where he can go from here with what he has achieved already. Infinite is like a lesson in individuality"
