Homemade Vermouth Recipe

Full of botanicals, this simple homemade vermouth recipe takes a bit of time, but is worth every last drop.
Homemade Vermouth Recipe

Prep time: 10 minutes


1500 milliliters of Riesling
35 grams wormwood
20 grams lemongrass
17 grams Angelica (if fresh, 34 grams)
17 grams fresh grapefruit peel
17 grams fresh lemon peel
10 grams dried rose petals
10 grams lavender (dried flowers)
10 grams licorice bark
a few lavender stems / stalks
pinch of sea salt
1 1/2 ounces grape Eau de Vie
45 grams of local honey


1. In a large jar, mix the Riesling with the wormwood, lemongrass, Angelica, grapefruit and lemon peels, rose petals, lavender, licorice bark, lavender, and sea salt. Let is sit for 1 to 2 weeks, then strain, discarding the solids.

2. Stir in the Eau de Vie and the honey. Stir and serve!
