It's not easy being Jose Mourinho right now. It wasn't even two years ago when he was the best coach in England and his caustic sense of life was applauded as Chelsea romped to the EPL title. Damn, how fast life changes.Mourinho is at Manchester United now, and by the latest reports it seems like he's in a tough place. And if you can get past the schadenfreude that most non-Chelsea or United fans might have about this, it's actually kind of sad.United, for one, is sitting seventh in the Premier League and six points off the lead after nine games. This is after Mourinho bought Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer. Maybe most embarrassing for Mourinho, only five EPL teams have allowed more goals than his. Hell, Chelsea just walloped United 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.That seems to only be half the issue for him, though. He seems lonely and disassociated.According to the BBC, Mourinho is living by himself in a Manchester hotel and won't go outside because he doesn't want to be dogged by photographers."I just want to cross the bridge and go to a restaurant," he said. "I can't, so it's really bad."He is calling this part of his life a "disaster." Without the comfort of family and with a struggling team, Mourinho has nowhere to turn to."The reality is that my daughter will be 20 next week, my son will be 17 in a couple of months," he said. "They are very stable. University in London. Football in London. Friends. So they are in an age where they can't chase me like they did before. So for the first time the family lives in a different way."Mourinho may be cocky and imperial and self-aggrandizing, but he is still human.[BBC]
