New Pants LIVE in NYC

Before they head back to Beijing, New Pants will make two NYC appearances this week.

In case you missed New Pants at Coachella, the Chinese indie darlings will be making two NYC appearances this week. Catch their headlining set at Mercury Lounge tonight at 9 PM, or Thursday’s 8 PM show at Brooklyn Bowl, where they’ll be opening up for Spanish dance group Delorean, alongside The Stepkids.

Formed in 1996, by frontman (and famed animator) Peng Lei, the band’s early sound was heavily influenced by New Wave and bands like Joy Division and the Ramones. In more recent years their style has gravitated towards 80s disco and electro, making them a vibrant fixture in the Beijing indie scene. See a video of them live at last year’s Beijing event above, and don’t miss them if you’re in NYC!
