Creators Remix Roundup Week 18

UNKLE, a preview of Boys Noize’s Daft Punk remix for TRON Legacy R3CONF1GUR3D, and Diplo meets G-Dragon.

Our Creators are a very talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always cluttered with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

UNKLE: “Money and Run” (feat. Nick Cave)

James Lavelle’s ongoing musical project UNKLE has teamed up with five different vocalists for their upcoming 5-song EP Only The Lonely out April 5th. “Bad Seed” Nick Cave does vocals for the bright rock track “Money and Run,” marking the first collaboration between the musicians. "I always had a huge soft spot for UNKLE—their pop sensibilities, their hooks, big choruses, their super-treated production—so when they sent me some music to sing over, I jumped at the chance," Cave said in a statement. If the rest of the EP sounds like this, you’re going to want to pre-order it here.

Daft Punk: “End of Line” (Boys Noize remix)

For some, the fact that Daft Punk scored the entire soundtrack for TRON:Legacy was reason enough to see the movie, but since all the hype surrounding the film has died down, it’s the perfect time for the electronic legends to announce the remix album: TRON Legacy R3CONF1GUR3D. Dance floor staples Boys Noize were given the track “End of Line”—from the club scene—to remix, and a few days ago it surfaced on the internet. Much to our dismay, it has since been taken down, but we found a preview that’s still floating around here. Get R3CONF1GUR3D on April 15th.

G-Dragon and T.O.P.: “Knock Out” (prod. Diplo)

Korean popstars G-Dragon and T.O.P., both members of the popular “boy band” Big Bang, met Diplo when he was in town last year and decided to collaborate on a track. The uber-styled video features the “rapper rappers” with “crazy flow” (according to Diplo) in tight suits, tons of bling, and doing stuff like popping bubble rap and lounging with a Coco Chanel disguised Lego person on an army tank. We love how, stylistically, anything goes in Korea… but unfortunately, the song was banned on Korean airwaves for the objectionable lyrics (but not the Playboy bunnies, interestingly enough). If your Korean reading skills are up to snuff, you can read the full post on our Korean site.

Duran Duran and Mark Ronson talk about their “perfect marriage”.

Though it’s a blatant ad for Addidas, this Romain Gavras short featuring and JUSTICE’s new single “Civilisation” will get even the most sports-repelling person pumped up.

Did you know that Mixhell have been releasing mini-episodes chronicling their tour on their blog? Here they are at La Gaîté Lyrique, the host of our Parisian event in June.
