Most Australians Want Barnaby Joyce to Quit

People might finally be getting sick of Barnaby Joyce’s shit. According to a Newspoll run over the weekend by The Australian, 65 percent of voters think he should resign as Nationals leader while 30 percent think he should leave parliament altogether. A total of 1632 voters were surveyed.

Whatever could everyone be so mad about? Over the past two weeks, Joyce has come under fire for:

• having an adulterous affair with his staffer, Vikki Campion, who is now pregnant;
• literally creating a new and extremely well-paid new job for her in a colleague’s office to avoid arousing suspicion;
• successfully running a re-election campaign for his seat based on “family values” while all this was happening;
• repeatedly staying for free in accommodation paid for by businessmen benefiting from federal government projects;
• being totally unapologetic for any of the above, and in fact firing back at Malcolm Turnbull for suggesting that ministers should stop having sex with the people under their employ.

Joyce, who was meant to act as Prime Minister this week while Turnbull is out of the country, is now taking personal leave.

Nobody seems very sure that his job will be there when he returns.
