Ariel Pink's "Witchhunt Suite for WWII" Video Is Even Weirder Than Its Name

Ariel Pink treats us to a 9/11 retrospective as only Ariel Pink could.

Today, we are treated to a truly evocative 9/11 musical tribute--no, not by Philip Glass, who has donated his compositional mastery to the original score of Jim Whitaker's upcoming 9/11 retrospective doc, Rebirth, nor by Sarah McLachlan, who it seems is the go-to for making people want to bawl until a teensy bit of vomit comes out their nose, but by none other than Ariel Pink.

Ariel began work on this 16 minute, multi-part, fun house mirror of a tribute song in the midst of the chaos following the attacks on September 11th, but the track has only ever seen the light of day on a 2007 tour-only CD-R entitled Das Yudette. Now, in honor of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Ariel Pink is exposing "Witchhunt Suite for WWII" to the public…for better or for worse. The accompanying video, a joint directorial collaboration between Pink himself and Animal Charm, is equally (if not more) head-scratching, composed of found footage ranging from mundane pop culture vapidity to disturbing, NSFL wartime footage. Check it out below and then maybe see a therapist.
