Yet Another Reason For Republicans To Resent Canadians: Tea Partiers Fight Canuck Band On Domain Name

In related news, we're voting Lemon Party in 2012.

Members of the Tea Party movement surfing the web and looking to engage in some light virtual discourse with like-minded individuals might find themselves somewhat confused upon navigating their way to www.teaparty.com--not only because it's the hompage for a Canadian rock band rather than a hyper-conservative American political group, but also because, somehow, Canadians have managed to glean the basics of technology and literacy despite their archaic communist education system.

Boasting "No politics…Just Rock and Roll" (which is, like, REALLY badass), the Toronto-based trio is anything but ignorant to the treasure trove on which they're sitting. Despite having disbanded in 2005, the group clung to the domain name they had registered back in 1993 and, according to a Bloomberg Businessweek report, it could pay off big time. A cool $1 million worth of "big time". But you know what's cooler than a million dollars? NOT sharing a name with the most embarrassing thing to happen to American politics since that one time George Bush Sr. puked in the lap of Japanese Prime Minister Miyazawa Kiichi.

Needless to say, Tea Party Republicans aren't too pleased with loop that these Creed v2.0-looking bros are throwing them for, but hey, we guess that's just the free market economy at work. Maybe the Tea Party can just change its name to the Lemon Party. We're sure that domain is probably available.
