The coolest bass player in rock 'n’ roll, Kim Deal, has released a new series of solo seven-inch records on her website. The first release, “Walking With A Killer” b/w “Dirty Hessians,” only ran 1,000 copies. What is this? 1992? (Probably.)You remember Kim Deal, right? Bass player of the Pixies, had her own amazing band with her twin sister Kelly called the Breeders, played in the Amps, went to rehab, came back and still made incredible pop songs. Anyway, she’s back and releasing solo material now. On top of that, the Breeders will reunite their 1992-1994 line-up (with Josephine Wiggs on bass and Jim Macpherson on drums) for All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival this June. The Breeders have promised to play their hit album Last Splash in full, which kind of makes sense as 4AD is releasing a Last Splash 20th anniversary reissue, LSXX. In a timely and very PR savvy fashion, the Breeders leaked a YouTube video of them practicing on New Years Eve.With Courtney Love doing impromptu concerts all over New York and Soundgarden touring again, it seems like no one can stop the 90s revival. And, come on, who would want to?
