A show in Brooklyn ended with a dozen fluorescent light tubes smashed across the back of a guy endlessly playing “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” The “band” then jumped in their car and peeled out from underneath the highway overpass, where thirty die-hard rock n’ roll fans gathered for the third annual BQE generator show. The gig clocked in at a whopping 20 minutes, starting promptly at 4:20PM during a 15 degree wind chill. No permits were obtained to throw the three band bill, which was powered by a rented gasoline generator. The glass was removed and the gear was quickly packed up and driven away when the music ended.

Nancy opened the show with garage punk hits including “(Get The) Revvup,” “Malt Licker,” and “B.O.B.” They were followed by the joke R&B of John Bigmun, who sang about red wine and smoking electronic cigarettes. I’m not sure what the name of the closing band (with the fluorescent light tubes) was, but then again the concert organizers didnt either.
