Memorial Day Noisey Roundup: The Vaccines Got Beef With The Liam Gallagher

Ahh, Memorial Day Weekend. Our nerdy colleagues at Momboard call it the Christmas of BBQ. I like to think of it as a three-day mind wipe of burgers on the roof and wasted days. Before the Vice editorial section breaks free from the office for card games and beer, we wanted to hit you with a rundown of our favorite Noisey artists’ activities this week.

Most interestingly, there's actual beef between the Vaccines and Oasis! Feels like old times! But it's sort of dull. Liam Gallagher needs to kick up his zingers. After he called the Vaccines' new record "boring," singer Justin Young spat back "words are his weapon, not mine. I think I've made a better record than he has." OH DIP! [METRO]

This is cool. Chicago's Blackout Festival returns this year after a five-year interval. It's headed up by the original promotors Todd Killings and Brent Cross of HoZac Records. The line up this year features our masked garage rock favorite Nobunny playing tomorrow night, as well as the Dum Dum Girls, the Spits, and the Smith Westerns. Sweeet. [CHICAGO TRIBUNE]

Another rad festival I wish I was going to. Off WIth Their Heads has confirmed that they're playing the Fest this October. No surprise there, really. [THE PUNK SITE]

Here's my favorite; Chaz Bundick of Toro Y Moi is now a model. He modelled some fancy-shmancy threads for Baron Wells this week, and even got in a bathtub for the shoot. Nice one, Chazzy. [STEREOGUM]
