James Murphy Wants Your Photos

The former LCD Soundsystem front-man is soliciting photos to be featured in a short film.

In all our years of obsessing over music, we've learned that everyone loves LCD Soundsystem. They were pretty much the perfect band, combining everything tolerable about underground dance music, new wave, and post-punk and forming it like Voltron into something unassailably cool and less nerdy. We're as cynical as anyone else in our zip code, but this stuff was pure magic.

So when James Murphy, LCD's former singer, asks us for anything - anything at all - we're obliged to say yes.

Well, he's asking for photos. Lots of photos. He's teamed up with Canon's Project Imaginat10n to produce a short film compiled from fan submissions. The photos can be anything at all, and James will look through the submissions and pick ten of them for the film.

James isn't the only one directing these films - Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, Biz Stone, and Georgina Chapman are all signed on, making little masterpieces under the guidance of famous ballcap-clad film-whiz Ron Howard. But James is the only musician, so naturally we're sorta biased.

So ask yourself: What have I done for James Murphy lately? It's time to give back. Submit your photos right here.
