Listen to Fetty Wap's New "RGF Island (Snippet)"

Fetty Wap is basically the 2015 version of Frank Sinatra.

Paterson, New Jersey's Fetty Wap is one of Noisey's favorite new hip-hop artists. We named his anthemic tune "Trap Queen" the 14th best track of 2014, and the general consensus among our staff is the dude is poised for big things this year. At his best, Fetty is one of those singin-ass rappers who combines beautiful melodicism and raw emotion with hammer-slamming heavy beats that let you know he means business. Much like artists such as Lil Wayne,T-Pain, and Drake, as well as his contemporaries Lil Durk and Tink, Fetty Wap makes carefully constructed songs, not just loosely connected collections of beats, hooks, and verses. What I'm trying to say is that Fetty Wap is basically the 2015 version of Frank Sinatra.

Fetty's first move of the year is to release "RGF Island (snippet)," which despite its nearly three-minute run time, seems to be an unfinished version of his next single. Hopefully, this soundcloud drop signals Fetty is working on a follow-up to Fetty's November tape Up Next.
