Watch The First Installment of JanSport's 2013 Bonfire Sessions, with Divine Fits and Japandroids

To celebrate our second year hanging with our buddies at JanSport, we headed to the magical, mystical land of Austin, TX, to enjoy cheap Mexican food and performances from Divine Fits and Japandroids.

This year is our second year hanging out with our buddies at JanSport for the Bonfire Sessions. In case you haven't been following, the Bonfire Sessions is basically everything you could ever possibly want from a show: the series travels across the country, putting on free, outdoor events with complimentary snacks, frosty beverages, and amazing bands. We've been doing this since way back in 2012, and to celebrate the second year, we traveled down to SXSW to host a show at VICELAND, our South By stronghold.

Austin is a magical, mystical land of rock 'n' roll and interior Mexican food. That's why, for the first installment of JanSport's 2013 Bonfire Sessions, we braved the noise to put on a show with one of our favorite bands from Texas: Divine Fits. If you aren't aware, Divine Fits is led by Britt Daniel, who you may know from Spoon. He's been leading this supergroup (which also features Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs fame) for a year now, and in that time they've become best friends with the other band we asked to play, the brash rock duo Japandroids. As expected, the show was completely bonkers, and made for a great way to start off the new year. You can even catch a glimpse of me stumbling around Austin on no sleep. Viva Austin!

Head right here to stay up to date on the upcoming JanSport Bonfire Sessions--the next one is in San Francisco. You'll love it.
