Barbadian rapper, Haleek Maul, is yet another one of these new breed of disgustingly young, scarily talented artists to emerge recently. I know it's tempting to get butthurt over the fact that people who can't legally have sex yet are now largely producing the most exciting new music, rather than just fawning over the stars like they used to, but you'll be kicking yourself in a few months' time if you don't keep up with this guy.Anyway, Chrome Lips, a hook-up with Chi-town production duo Supreme Cuts, gracefully straddles a kind of grey area between the alt-rap of today's wavy and laid-back beats, to straight-up horrorcore that'd be more suited to the sociopathic likes of, IDK, Gravediggaz, or something. But while the production is tight, the project most definitely seems to be more of a crash course for listeners in getting to know the precocious raps of Maul, about everything from sex to suicide. The whole thing is unsettling as fuck and out now via Mishka's Bandcamp. Watch out for lots of appearances from the likes of Das Racist’s Kool A.D. and Main Attrakionz. Listen to the whole thing below and hold tight for the "M00N" video which we will be premiering exclusively on Noisey. You guys are so spoilt!
