Mogwai De-mixes Apparat

How do you out-techno an electro mastermind? Well, you don't. Which is why Mogwai's decidedly toned-down de-mix of German IDM musician/producer (and upcoming Noisey artist) Apparat's "Song of Los" is a refreshingly ambient and layered re-work of the dancefloor ballad original.

Since revealing plans for his 8th album back in April, Berlin-based Apparat (né Sascha Ring) has been sitting on The Devil's Walk (which shares a name with a political poem by romantic English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, in case you were wondering) with not so much as a single leak or preview to hold us over until its September 27th release date. That is, until now, as Scottish post-rock demi-gods Mogwai have taken a crack at the albums first single to create--we hate to use cliché music blogger terms like "shimmering" and "majestic", but…just listen…

Keep an ear out for The Devil's Walk, an eye out for Apparat on Noisey, and catch Mogwai on their extended fall tour. Dates and details below!
