Beach Fossils: “Generational Synthetic”

Beach Fossils tease a new track ahead of their forthcoming record.

There’s something special about Captured Tracks. As the name suggests, it’s as if the record label has captured some of the most beautiful modern bedroom pop. They’ve seized these scared sounds and set them free across the internet. Amongst others, the label boasts the excellent intricacies of Wild Nothing, Mac DeMarco, DIIV and Beach Fossils, with the latter gearing up for the release of their new LP.

Apparently, the record was almost lost due to Hurricane Sandy. Are these guys so lo-fi that they don’t use USB sticks? Or save backup copies on the internet? My teacher at school always taught me to save a back up copy. But anyway, it wasn't lost and the band have just set free a new song from their album. The track, titled “Generational Synthetic” is the hyperactive cousin to Wild Nothing’s Gemini, filled with subtle bass tones and iridiscent Breakfast Club vocals.
