Welp, this is just the best. Following the two natural disasters that hit his hometown of New York City, KRS-One decided to go into full-on "The Teacha" mode and make a song about disaster survival. It's called "Disaster Kit," and here are some of his ACE SURVIVAL TIPS:—You should not be afraid of natural disasters. You can even get drunk the night before a natural disaster, as long as you have a survival kit ready for when you sober up.—Always have rope and wire, plus an Otter Box.—It's best to wear close-toed shoes, and the word "candle" rhymes with "sandal."—Keep medication around. Yes, weed counts as medication.—If you put eight drops of bleach in a gallon of water, it will disinfect it.—Keep your survival kit elevated in case your house floods. You'll probably need weapons, just in case the shit goes full "The Road Warrior" on everybody. And, well, that's pretty much it. The best part about "Disaster Kit"--besides everything about "Disaster Kit"--is that he's rapping over a sped-up loop of DJ Shadow's "Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt," which is kind of our reaction to this whole thing. Watch the video below, and have a pillow ready to ease the impact of your jaw hitting the floor.
