Katy B To Write Anthem For London 2012 Olympics And Join Torch Relay

Sure, Katy B's extensive tour schedules and explosively energetic live shows require a degree of athletic endurance, but does Kat have what it takes to...run in the London 2012 Olympics?? Coca-Cola seems to think so.

Sure, Katy B's extensive tour schedules and explosively energetic live shows require a degree of athletic endurance, but does Kat have what it takes to…run in the London 2012 Olympics?? Coca-Cola seems to think so.

Coke, one of the major sponsors of the Games, has tapped Katy and painfully cool Brit super-producer Mark Ronson to write the official anthem of the London 2012 Olympics, as well as participate in the nationwide 8,000 mile torch relay. (Don't worry: before you tell Katy to invest in a REALLY good pair of sneakers (or trainers, as she probably calls them) the relay is completed by 8,000 inspirational or aspiratonal individuals.)

The backbone of Ronson's "Move to the Beat" will be derived from samples of sounds made by five international Olympic atheletes as they train for 2012, while the lyrics and melody will be written by Miss Brien herself.

But as far as exhilirating, empowering sports anthems go, is there any chance that "Move to the Beat" can possibly even touch the legendary Quad City DJ's "Space Jam"?? We really doubt it, but we'll keep an open mind.
