Mutation seems like a project borne from the minds of reality television: "Let's get Shane Embury of Napalm Death together with a guy from The Wildhearts and Mark E. Smith and see what happens." This perceived-10-car-pile-up of influences and disciplines works though, like on today's big reveal "Relentless Confliction," the new track featuring the snarling vocals of Mark E. Smith (The Fall) and backing instrumentation/vocals from members of Cardiacs and The Sisters of Mercy. Stream that track, which mixes grind, post-punk and Mike-Patton-esque epic choruses, and look for the new LP Error 500 via Ipecac on October 29th.
