What a bummer. What a thing to wake up to. Yesterday, in a very candid Facebook post, the Prince of Darkness himself came clean about the last year and a half of his life, during which he's been drinking and taking drugs.Here's the statement in full:For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person.I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period………and my fans.God Bless,OzzyThis post comes at the heels of a very challenging year for Ozzy, with the simultaneous release of a new Sabbath album (their first in 35 years) and vicious rumors in the press that he and Sharon, his wife of 31 years, are separating. These rumors were sparked when it was reported that Ozzy had moved into a rented mansion, and Sharon was spotted in Beverly Hills not wearing her wedding ring. Maybe it just fell off or something.As I'm writing this post I'm feeling sort of icky, like a tabloid writer, but this is Ozzy Osbourne we're talking about. Somehow anything involving his life seems to stick in my brain and I have to comment on it in some way. So the only comment I'll say here is congratulations on 44 days sober, Ozzy--45 now, I guess.
