The past year or so has seen a marked surge in "scuzz rock" bands that crop up seemingly out of nowhere, are shamelessly buzzed-about for three months exactly, and are quickly forgotten with the rest of the bartenders-turned-musicians-turned-bartenders. Darlings is not one of these bands.Floating just under the radar for some time now (while still earning nods from pubs like Brooklyn Vegan and The New York Times), this foursome has been tightening and crafting their sound since releasing their debut LP, Yeah I Know, and their follow-up EP, Warma. Tomorrow, they'll be dropping their newest seven-inch, "Pet The Ghost/Shelley," via Famous Class Records, and we've already got it queued up to be our summer jam 'til season's end. This is slacker pop with nothing lacking.Check out the single's A-side, "Pet The Ghost," below, and snag a physical copy here.
