Angel Haze - Classick Mixtape

The rapper goes in over classic instrumentals.
October 25, 2012, 4:38pm

Rising New York rapper Angel Haze has dropped her second mixtape in six months, this one a six-song re-imagining of other rap songs. She takes Lupe Fiasco's well-intentioned "Bitch Bad" into the sort of genuinely discursive territory that Fiasco's version could only hope to go, proves her flows can match a beat as crazy as Timbaland and Missy Elliot's "Gossip Folks," and matches the emotive power of Jay-Z's "Song Cry." Additionally, she flexes her singing muscles on Common and Erykah Badu's "Love Of My Life," goes in Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)," and closes the tape out with her shocking narrative of childhood abuse over Eminem's "Cleaning Out My Closet."
