Lostprophets' Ian Watkins Charged With Child Sex Offences

Due to appear in court today.

It's been confirmed that Lostprophets' frontman, Ian Watkins, has been charged with child sex offences and is to appear at Cardiff Magistrates' Court today.

A police spokesman said:

"The 35-year-old has been charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under 13 and possession/distribution of indecent images of children."

Police added that two women, aged 20 and 24 from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and Bedford respectively, have been charged with "similar offences" and are also due to appear in court.

Watkins has now been remanded in custody following his appearance at Cardiff Magistrates' Court today for child sex abuse offences.

The lead allegation is conspiring with a woman to rape a one-year-old girl, the court heard. The singer also stands accused of two separate incidents of conspiring to engage in sexual relations with two young children; possessing, making and distributing indecent images; and possessing “extreme” animal pornography.
