We Are Premiering Our Latest Documentary, Hip Hop in the Holy Land, At The Great Escape

Join us at the Bosco Theatre on Saturday for an exclusive look at our new series.

At this year’s Great Escape festival Noisey are proud to be premiering our latest documentary series. Off the back of our hugely successful takes on Atlanta, Jamaica and Chicago, we spent time in Israel and Palestine to take the temperature of the rap scene.

The documentary, hosted and co-directed by Mike Skinner, follows some of the voices that have emerged from this unique and often conflicted environment. These include Tamer Nafar, who founded DAM the first ever Palestinian rap group, Ben Blackwell, a member of the relatively unknown Hebrew Israelite community from the Negev desert, and Ohad Cohen, a previously secular rapper who now continues his career in the ultra-orthodox community.

The film will be followed by a question and answer session with Mike who will be in Brighton for the festival. If you keep your ear to the ground you might even stumble across one of his secret free TONGA parties a little later on.

The screening will take place in the Bosco Theatre at 3pm on Saturday the 16th of May, and you will need a Great Escape wristband to get in.

Then from 11:30pm, we'll have a very very special afterparty with Mike Skinner x TONGA - free entry for all, you don't need a wristband. Check Noisey Twitter today for details.
