Having spoken to Time Out last week about the then possible closure of one of the UK’s most important music venues, the Mayor of London has described himself as “disappointed” by Islington Council’s decision to revoke fabric’s license in a statement posted on Facebook this morning.
The Mayor describes the club as “an essential part of London’s nightlife,” and goes on to reiterate both his commitment to employing a Night Czar to oversee nocturnal activity in a city which is increasingly being told to be in bed by 11PM, and his (somewhat justified) belief that “no single organization or public body can solve these problems alone.”
