Do you have some money lying around? Want to make an animated prequel to Richard Kelly’s fascinating 2007 flop / cult classic Southland Tales? Now’s your chance.
As I mention in my article about the life, death, and rebirth of Southland Tales, Kelly wants to make a movie that’ll tell the story of what happens before his failed dystopian sci-fi farce. As part of that effort, he gave Motherboard the exclusive privilege of releasing the prequel screenplay he’s written. So here it is, in all its glory. It has prophecies, murders, Dungeons & Dragons allusions, tattoos, and magical babies that don’t have bowel movements. In other words, it fits Southland Tales perfectly.
