Earlier this month, Apple released a new Spike Jonze short titled Welcome Home. That film starred FKA Twigs, featured a new Anderson .Paak song “Til It’s Over,” and saw Twigs manipulating the shape of an apartment with the movement of her body. It’s extremely cool, and involves a lot of technical mastery that probably left you scratching your head—luckily, we’ve got a behind the scenes video up at the top of this page, to show you how it was done.
From practicalities (like, how did they make that wall move?), to lighting design, to the complex and intricate choreography, all of the film’s fun secrets are revealed. Combined with a number of interviews with the crew, and the story of how Twigs came to be involved in the first place, it makes the finished product even more fascinating to watch. Oh, and also you get to see Spike Jonze dance with a chair. Can’t ask for more than that, really.
