The last couple of years, there’s been a significant surge of interest in dance music from Brooklyn’s nightlife community, with more and more local and international acts playing around town on the weekends. There are lots of promoters and venues doing exciting things, to be sure, but we think one institution in particular deserves some recognition for being around long before club beats were back in style: The Bunker.
If you think so too, then this Saturday holds a golden opportunity for you: they’ll be celebrating their somewhat shocking thirteenth anniversary at Brooklyn’s Good Room venue, co-presented by the Beyond Booking agency. The lineup matches the stature of the occasion: Ostgut Ton producer and recent THUMP mix alumnus Function will headline the main room while The Bunker’s resident DJ Mike Servito handles duties in the more intimate “Bad Room.” They’ll also be receiving support from Inland (who co-runs the Infrastructure New York label with Function), Post Scriptum (who’s on that label), and more.
