The Toronto Sun Thought the Blue Jays Traded for Justin Upton

The Blue Jays struck a deal with the Padres for outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. on Tuesday, but apparently the Toronto Sun didn’t get the memo.

The Toronto tabloid paper was out to lunch and got Melvin confused with his younger brother Justin, who plays for the Tigers.

It appears the Sun has since corrected the error in newer versions.

Upton pinch-hit and got a standing ovation in his Blue Jays debut, a 7-6 extra-inning win over San Diego on Tuesday. He’s making his first start with the Blue Jays today, batting cleanup and playing left field.
