It’s been 70 years since the end of World War II, but the hunt is still on for the artworks that the Nazi regime stole from the countries it occupied. Good news this week, though: two masterpieces were returned to their rightful owners. El Greco’s Portrait of a Gentleman went back to the family of Jewish art collector and banker Julius Priester, and Henri Matisse’s Seated Woman was returned successfully to the Rosenberg family. The works were unearthed by the founder CEO of Art Recovery Group, Chris Marinello, who Business Insider has nicknamed, the “Sherlock Holmes” of art recovery.
