1) Deaf Wish - “Freeze the Sound” - My favorite song by most likely my favorite band of recent times. If they actually do come from Australia to play in America this fall, there’s a very good chance I just might plotz. Consider yourself warned.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/united-waters-track-two.mp3]2) United Waters - “Platetectonics 2” - New solo sounds from Brian Sullivan, the axe wielding half of the abstract thud rock duo, Mouthus. But this ain’t the usual crash, bang and wallop you’d expect from this rugged type. Imagine him in an ascot with thumb and pointing finger on his chin and you’ll get the picture. If you can’t conjure that image up, just listen to the damn track. Full length to come out very soon on Arbitrary Signs.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/blitz-track-three-1.mp3]3) Blitz - “White Man” - This tracks comes off of the bands’ second album Second Empire Justice; a release most hardcore Oi! Aficionados consider a very hard one to stomach. I consider it these boot boys version/vision of “Vibing Up The Senile Man” but hey, I huffed alotta suede cleaner in my early 20s.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/03-sooner-or-later.mp3]4) Black Ice - “Sooner or Later” - When I really wanna get down and put on my fangs and swoop around in my cape, I throw on something from these present day NoCal dark types.

5) Flowers - “After Dark” - My brother had that Mutant Pop compilation when I was still in briefs, and I played it a lot when he was out of the house. So now you all have to suffer for it.
[audio: http://vicerecords.com/download/Wondefuls Track Six.mp3]6) Wonderfuls - “Piss Fist” - A sneak peek at the first vinyl offering to be released on the Negative Guest List record label; an obvious subsidiary to the essential fanzine. Check your local dirty book shop for copies soon-ish.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/renderers-track-seven.mp3]7) Renderers - “Burning Bible” - The true blue bummer sound. There is no substitute.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/jethro-tull-track-eight.mp3]8) Jethro Tull - “Back to the Family” - If you don’t wanna go any further after seeing/hearing Tull on here, go fuck yourself and have a good night.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/stone-harbour-track-nine.mp3]9) Stone Harbour - “Workin’ for the Queen” - I always got the feeling that the sound in their heads never matched up with the sound they actually produced… and that’s what makes this track so damn special.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/home-blitz-track-ten.mp3]10) Home Blitz - “World War Three” - I think Home Blitz was on the last mix I did. And they’ll probably be on the next one I do too. Live with it.

11) Clive Sands - “Marie” - I must have listened to this song six times today. If it doesn’t make you woozy with joy, then you’re a sorry nipple pierced mutha.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/jacobites-track-twelve.mp3]12) Jacobites - “Chelsea Springtime” - Who knows… it could actually feel like Springtime by the time you hear this… but I severely doubt it.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/six-organs-track-thirteen.mp3]13) Six Organs of Admittance - “Hold But Let Go” - Ole Chesthair Chasny does it again. When all I wanna do is listen to Firmeza 10 and rage, he’ll pull something like this outta his beautiful ass to make me wanna smoke oregano through a toilet roll and sit painfully crosslegged. What a magnificent bastard…
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/feedtime-track-fourteen.mp3]14) Feedtime - “All Down” - Oh, how I wish I could see the reunion these Aussie legends are doing in San Francisco in a few months, but I am a grown ass man with responsibilities and brussels sprouts to watch pop up. A decent sized interview with these guys will be up on here on Rettsounds soon, so sit tight.
[audio: http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/blogs/en/files/2011/03/the-men-track-fifteen.mp3]15) The Men - “Immaculata” - Non-Xerox style ‘weird punk’ from a Brooklyn band that I’m sure you and your buds have seen a million times already while I sit here in the suburbs watching sitcoms. But did you see Black Flag? Youth of Today? Minutemen? No, you didn’t. I did. And you think I should be jealous that you’re seeing The Men? Get the fuck out of my house! Having said that, I’m sure these guys scorch live (XOXOX).
