Maddy Vice: What’s that dress you’re wearing?
Maddy: This is the MAW Yves Frilly Dress. It’s real pretty. What do you like to smell of?
Oh, I just brought a new perfume actually, the Comme des Garçons and Stephen Jones collaboration—it is THE most beautiful thing I’ve ever smelt… of. What are your predictions fashion-wise for 2010?
3D glasses. That’s a safe bet. What are some labels from your neck of the woods you predict doing great things this year?
Ingrid Starnes is a really lovely new label we’ve just started stocking. It has a beautiful, unique femininity to it and the designer is really lovely too, which is always important. Whose music graced the store’s speakers today?
We’ve been playing the new Beach House album quite a bit as well as The Almighty Defenders and a lot of 90s grunge, like Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam and The Pixies. Also some Patti Smith and Brother Ali. Anything goes really. Ok, it’s truth time. Let’s go with; what’s something you wrote in a diary once that you hoped no one would ever know about?
That I got busted shoplifting disposable razors from Woolworths when I was 11 because I wasn’t allowed to shave my legs until I was 13. I was served a trespass notice from there for 2 years. It was a really big deal at the time.

Francis and Ryan Vice: What are you lads wearing today?
Francis: I’m wearing a Band of Outsiders “This is Not a Polo Shirt” polo shirt, which is so ironic, an APC parka, Henrik Vibskov shorts and Vans. Ryan is wearing a Band of Outsiders shirt and Henrik Vibskov shorts. What are you reading?
The Beach by Alex Garland. What do you like to smell of?
Chanel, Egoiste. And what can we expect to see people getting around in for the rest of the year?
I think there will be a shift back to colourful streetwear and to a kind of collegiate or preppy look and it’s likely to involve parkas and windbreakers. The ranges we stock have been quite safe over the past few years but now it’s all colour, colour, colour. Which designers making things locally are you digging?
We really like Romance Was Born and have done quite a few art projects with them over the years. PAM and Rittenhouse are both really solid labels also. What’s the most public place you’ve ever done it?
Oh man, I really can’t answer that. Well, not answering shouldn’t be an option but because I’m feeling generous, I’ll give you another. What’s the meanest thing you’ve ever done to a girl?
I dacked the biggest girl in my grade during sports class because I’d heard she liked me a few days earlier. Not one of my prouder moments.

Victoria and Karen Vice: Can you please break down into individual pieces what you’re wearing today.
Karen: I’m wearing an Arnsdorf jumpsuit, Prada boots and Julia DeVille bracelet. Victoria has on Romance Was Born leggings, a One Trick Pony jumper and dress and Julia DeVille necklace. Whose words are you reading?
Oscar Wilde’s, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Do you have an odor of choice?
I like the smell of flowers and seaweed. My favourite perfume makes some of my friends angry because they say it’s too much, but I still like the original Agent Provocateur. You guys only stock Australian labels so can you tell us some of the rising stars.
Mel Bower is my hot tip, TV is always amazing, Therese Rawsthorne, Gary Bigeni, Dhini and anyone else represented at our store really. Do your customers ever surprise you?
I always like it when boys come in looking for something for their girlfriends and start describing them so we can help them choose the best gift. The best description so far is, ‘She’s really dreamy’. Ok, we’ve learnt that people like talking about how mean they are more than how sexy they are so, what’s the meanest thing you’ve ever done to a guy?
I once told a guy that he was bad for my brand.
