NEW YORK - THE OWL

Like most brilliant ideas, the full genius of this plan didn't reveal itself until a while after its execution. What started as a kernel of laughter Friday night—admittedly a good size kernel—roasted slowly over the weekend, picked up a generous coating of oil when the guard on the hair trimmer was too high to do any good, and finally popped into full blossom Monday night when, after taking half an hour finding someone in the office to lend him a hat, the owner of this head walked into the hot, crowded fashion week thing he was going to and immediately doffed his hat out of habit. They should make a children's book about this called The Tortoise and the Guy Who Let Halley Shave An Owl Face in the Back of His Head.
