3D SCANNING PHONE OF THE WEEK

Speaking of Google, the company has just revealed a new phone design that could potentially revolutionize the way we navigate, complete with a built-in 3D scanner. Project Tango is able to construct a live three-dimensional map of its surroundings with an advanced sensor function, a motion-tracking camera and computer vision processors, and can take quarter of a million 3D measurements in a single second. Struggling to navigate with wonky Map apps will be a thing of the past! Bad news for you Average Joes though, as it stands Google is set on just selling the technology to developers.

Ever wondered what your favorite sneaks might look like in the future? Bulgarian artist Simeon Georgiev has, as envisioned in a new project that gives the Nike Air Max 1 and Roshe Run footwear styles a 31st century makeover. Crafted with clean, minimal lines and molded panels, both looks fit seamlessly with the designs of their new cyborg owners.  

WEARABLE FITNESS TECH OF THE WEEK

If you’ve been thinking about upping your fitness game lately–and reckon that whole wristband concept is kinda dated now that it’s landed at JD Sports–this is definitely the garment for you. The catchily-named D-Shirt is crafted from a lightweight sensor-woven fabric which is able to record your heart rate and speed when you’re out on a run, keeping track of all your vital stats on a linked-up smartphone app via Bluetooth. You can also keep tabs on your GPS location, route and altitude–the tee is even machine washable. Don’t waste it just schlepping round your neighborhood though; it’s the perfect piece to score points at the gym.
