Take a Dip with Trax Couture Boss Rushmore's 'Coastal Boogie'

The House of Trax main man's given us an exclusive taster of his upcoming World Series Vol.12 EP on his own Trax Couture imprint.

When he's not designing club ready streetwear, bossing his House of Trax parties, smashing NTS or Radar or Boiler Room, Matthew Thomas, AKA Rushmore, is releasing shit hot EP after shit hot EP's worth of bmore/jersey/house/electro/booty/whatever via his Trax Couture label. We've covered their globe-trotting World Series series here on THUMP before and the bossman's stepped up to the plate for the ludicrously good 12th instalment.

We dropped Thomas a line and asked if we could premiere something from it. The man from Trax, he say "Yes, that would be amazing, let's for for "Coastal Boogie" please. So we did. Rushmore, mate, what's "Coastal Boogie" all about?

""Coastal Boogie" is the track that channels the G-funk vibe the most on the new EP. That was the leading vibe i was looking to bring. I grew up listening o lots of G-funk, then dug deeper into P-funk as time went on," he told us.

"I wanted to explore a rap beats x footwork axis on the drum programming and structure side of the track and just give it some real cracking snares and G-funk claps to make your neck snap when you listen to it. Hopefully it's something that gives that cruising lowrider vibe with a fresh footwork inspired take on it. Top down, pushing buttons."

We've certainly heard nothing like it before. It's DJ Taye hanging out in Compton. Snoop Dogg cracking open a 40oz with Traxman. Natt Dogg braving the Chicago cold. You know the drill. Check it out in full below:
