What Happened When MUNCHIES Threw a Party in a Pie and Mash Shop

In celebration of the MUNCHIES Guide to British Food, we held a liquor and mash-doused party in legendary East End pie shop F. Cooke.

This week on MUNCHIES, we've been immersing ourselves in the world of British food.

From crisp sandwiches and Welsh sushi, to car park curry and Croydon dim sum, to Instagramming our lunch with Martin Parr and discussing hipster chefs with Jamie Oliver, it's been seven days of pure fire (and Marmite).

In celebration of the MUNCHIES Guide to British Food, we held a liquor and mash-doused party in legendary East End pie shop F. Cooke. With pie don Joe serving his signature beef-filled creations, as well as a vegan variation with carrot and swede—accompanied by mammoth mounds of potato, beer from Beavertown Brewery, and Fentimans' soft drinks—the night had all the necessities of a classic British dining experience: booze, good food, and overcrowding in the smoking area.
