To wake up the four astronauts of the final space shuttle mission on Day 7, NASA asked R.E.M. front man Michael Stipe to come in and sing “Man on the Moon” over the space phone (maybe it should have been “Losing My Religion”). This was likely far better than the regular fare, and much less anxiety-inducing than when the Pope calls.

With all due respect, is NASA on a campaign to not market to young people? How about something that sounds like NASA should sound?
