If you've yet to come up with a Halloween costume, have a camera, and are a lazy slug when it comes to dressing up, consider donning the outfit of Paul Paetzel's monster photographer, Rudolf. The Berlin-based artist is a prolific producer of zines, comics, and one-off illustrations twisting everyday life into absurd directions, including fictionalized biographies of of celebrities and a series simply called Human News.
Rudolf is the star of Rudolf Parcourt le Monde, a series recently exhibited at 22 Rue Mueller. Its titular character is a paparazzo for monsters, demons, and deplorables, and his outfit is a cinch to replicate: jeans, a grey button down shirt with a blue sweater, a camera at the ready, and receding blond hair. The best part is all the Harley Quinns, Deadpools, Donald Trumps, and Stranger Things monsters are part of your get-up. Point a camera at them and snap! You are Rudolf.
Check our Rudolf and his monstrous subject matter in the Instagrams below.
