Burning down your house and fleeing into in the woods in an attempt to escape societal pressures is not among one of the typical motifs of an R&B song, but Brooklyn’s Doe Paoro is no typical R&B singer. In her new Thoreau-esq video for “New Lows,” she covers a lot of heavy symbolism that furthers her attempt to put a new branding on the rhythm and blues genre.
Doe Paoro is playing a show at The Standard in NYC on June 19, and you can buy her New Lows/See Me Now seven-inch via White Iris right here.
