When Janelle Monáe hosted her Fem the Future brunch this weekend, she was tightlipped about what she’d bring to the Grammy stage. She made one thing clear: “…it’s going to be free as fuck.” Monáe snagged two nominations, one for her vulva-pantsed visual for “PYNK” and another for the most coveted award of the night: Album of the Year. Tonight, she performed a mix of “Make Me Feel,” and “Django Jane” from the dystopian love story Dirty Computer which mirrored her 48-minute emotion picture for the album.
