Nicki Minaj was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, performing “Chun-Li”, one of the lead singles from her upcoming fourth album Queen, and “Poke It Out”, her new Playboi Carti collaboration, taken from Carti’s surprise-released new record Die Lit. The first performance carried over the song’s vaguely questionable aesthetic, first seen in its music video, while the second was a much more minimalist performance. Nicki also appeared in an online-only sketch where Tina Fey, Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon play a HAIM-style band who perform a song about friendship, to which Nicki adds a verse. Watch that below:
