Since the announcement of David Bowie’s passing late Sunday night, countless tributes have poured in from the electronic community around the world, with DJs, producers, and musicians all paying their respects to the trailblazing artist. One of the more creative offerings comes courtesy of Nova Scotian DJ and producer Skratch Bastid, who uploaded a video yesterday of him performing a routine on turntables featuring Bowie’s 1983 hit “Let’s Dance” (co-written by Chic’s Nile Rodgers).
“The guy never stopped creating—he stayed recording and collaborating with artists like Arcade Fire & LCD Soundsystem over the last decade, and even put out an album two days ago, before his untimely passing,” writes the DJ in the clip’s accompanying description. “If that’s not motivation as an artist, I don’t know what is.”
