TOKYO - WORMS, WORMS FOR EVERYONE

As one of the most exciting countries in the whole world, Japan offers rare and exclusive things that you will see only once in a lifetime. Though many tourists go to temples and tea ceremony rooms trying to understand something very complicated and "profound" about Japanese culture which I, a native Japanese person, don't even know, Japan has many other places you can just visit and understand immediately. One such place is the Parasitological Museum in Meguro.

Anisakis

exists in the stomach of a dolphin.

This was discovered in the pig bowel.

Your lovely hamster might have a similar problem.

Poor li'l turtle… Its eyes were attacked by parasites.

Fishes are easy target for bloodsucking larva.

And we eat them too. Ever heard of sushi? The Japanese especially love that. Here is a 20-centimeter Ascaridida someone threw up.

This was found under the human skin.

Not a big deal, tough guy? Maybe this would satisfy you!

A worm almost nine meters long came out of someone's innards. The cause was sushi made with trout that had a larva infestation, which grew up in his bowel. Three months later he realized he was parasitized by finding a torn-off part of the worm's body in the toilet.

Japanese kids love it. "We are here for our summer study," said the boy in the middle.

Anyone interested in seafood now?
