What Is Liberal Music Twitter Saying About The Most Surprising Election Result In Decades?

First The Who headlining Glastonbury, now the Tories headlining the country. If ever you needed proof the tastes of the British public are hard to understand, this was the week you got it. Over at Vice.com they’re still covering the fallout, including the resignation of three party leaders in the next couple of hours in what is essentially The House of Commons’ answer to ‘The Red Wedding’.

But how is folksy left-leaning 6Music Twitter dealing with the news of five more years of Tory rule? We’ve spent the last couple of weeks discussing the lack of party-political engagement from musicians and the general apathetic attitude when it comes to politics and music intersecting, although last night we saw a tiny bit of it – mostly in the form of “fuck it all, I’m moving to Alicante” style defeatism.
