Beyoncé is a charitable soul—when Hurricane Harvey struck her home state of Texas, she had her BeyGOOD team "on the ground" in Houston—and there are countless other examples of her helping those less flush with cash.
So, in order to raise money for those affected by Puerto Rico's Hurricane Maria, she has hopped on a remix of J Balvin and Willy William's "Mi Gente." Via an Instagram post, she previewed the track (on which she's back singing in Spanish, to the assured delight of fans of her 2007 Spanglish EP Irreemplazable) and said that she'd be "donating proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other affected Caribbean islands." She also directed fans to a page on her website via which to donate to the relief cause.
The remix is still a huge bop (it includes the line "I be givin' birth on these haters 'cause I'm fertile" and OK fair enough), and is also an excellent way to try and point listeners in the direction of places to donate. Otherwise, it's hard to tell just how big the proceeds from the song's raw earnings—YouTube or Spotify streams, at fractions of the dollar or pound per play—would be. And people need this help urgently. Hear the song above.
