All of Uruguay's World Cup Troubles Can be Traced to a Termite Infestation, Naturally

Is there a more sinister reason for Uruguay's dud of a performance in their first World Cup match?

Costa Rica coach Jorge Pinto seemed surprised following his team's 3-1 win over Uruguay last Saturday.

But he shouldn't have been.

Uruguay's usually steady goalie, Fernando Muslera, was anything but. Time after time, he allowed balls to sail right past him. It almost seemed like he wasn't focused. Like he didn't get much sleep the previous two nights. Like he was tired.

Oh wait, he actually was fucking exhausted.

Muslera posted a tweet two nights before the match, showing what he believed to be ants in his bed. However, after Brazil's federal police opened up an investigation, it is now known they were termites, and foul play is suspected, according to a report in the Tribuna do Ceara.

C'mon, man, turn your phone to the side.

Muslera turned 28 on Monday. Happy birthday, bud.
