Celebrated Exerciser Afrojack Bares All to SoulCycle
"I wanted to let people know that they should not care about what’s going on around them. I am the perfect example," says the DJ in strangest interview in the history of EDM.
Afrojack's famously muscled thighs at workIf there's one thing you should know about Afrojack, it's that he has really amazing thighs. Like, mini-tree-stumps-level amazing. It's one of the top twenty reasons why Paris Hilton wanted to bone him. And that's because—unlike most of us lazy twerps—Afrojack is part of SoulCycle, which is less like a spinning class than a club night for people who like to hear motivational quotes from the Dali Lama while riding stationary bicycles.

Afrojack's total dedication to the cult of SoulCycle must be why he chose to talk to themabout his new album, Forget The World. The superstar DJ already made $18 million last year, according to Forbes so this was definitely just for fun.
In this bike-adjacent confessional, Afrojack laid out the reasons why he decided to be a DJ (which have absolutely nothing to do with making obscene amounts of money while spraying champagne). "I came from nothing, grew up in a little town… in Holland," he says. "When I first walked into a club and saw people communicating through music, I wanted to do it, too." What kinds of poignantly inspirational messages did grown-up Afrojack communicate to his fans? Well, as Afrojack screams in his collaborative track "As Your Friend" with the ever-unapologetic Chris Brown, that message is simple: "Imma fuck that pussy!"About the album's title, Forget The World, Afrojack shared another touching insight. "I wanted to let people know that they should not care about what's going on around them. I am the perfect example."
Afrojack with his album collaborator Snoop DoggThe interview is supplanted with quotes from SoulCycle gurus whose commentary truly touches the essence of what Afrojack is all about. "My favorite Afrojack song is 'Pop on Acid'—it's dark, and it has cool and intricate background sounds,'" shared instructor Lauren "LB" Bruker (Beverly Hills, Thursday at 6:30PM)."His drops are like no other and I respect the fact that he wants to make an album that doesn't rely solely on these drops," said David Zint (Santa Monica, Thursday at 5:30PM). Perhaps we'll leave it to Ben Bruker (West Hollywood, Thursday at 8:30PM) to summarize the appeal of Afrojack best: "His defined beats and cutting edge sounds make you want to jump through the ceiling!"Namaste, you bike badasses.@MichelleLhooq
